What is the benefit of a personalized yoga practice?
Whether you’re brand new to yoga or a seasoned practitioner, there is benefit to practicing in a group, and to receiving one-on-one individualized attention. While group classes can help you determine the style that feels best for you and allow you to establish a routine that can create change, you might feel yourself stalling along the way wondering, What’s next? This is where a personalized session can be immensely beneficial in drawing you further into not just what yoga makes your body feel like, but how it can affect how you move in the world. Whether you want to focus on chronic pain, breathwork, a particular posture that’s been challenging, or perhaps simply establishing a practice in a safe, nonjudgemental place, Jen is here to listen, guide, and support you on your journey. Many students have commented on how even one individual session deepened their practice, as they were able to receive the guidance and attention that is not always available when in a class of dozens. This is also an invitation to ask yourself not only what you want out of your practice, but how you want to feel as a result. It’s a wonderful opportunity to come home to you. What do I need to bring?
Just a mat and your lovely self! Props will be provided if necessary, and Jen will structure a class tailored specifically to your needs. Some students come to a one-on-one practice needing yoga postures and lifestyle recommendations to keep their back pain at bay when working at a desk all day. Others have been chronically ill and are looking for a way to reconnect with their bodies. Some have been practicing for years and are curious about what the next steps are for incorporating this ancient practice beyond the mat. Above all else, come with an open mind so that you can receive what the practice has to reveal.
